Yuri Hiranuma
Profile
Yuri Hiranuma, born in Kyoto, started music at the age of 4. Her fun in her childhood was composing and playing her own pieces. She started her concert activities throughout the country when she was in college. She has given numerous concert tours abroad including Europe, United States, and South-East Asia so far. In 1998, she performed at ¡ÈRoyal Gala Concert (at Kioi Hall)¡É in the presence of Prince Edward from British royal family. In 2000, she performed real-time digital collaboration entitled ¡Èen¡É (Aoyama Round Theatre) which is a total performance of image and music linking both visual and acoustic sense together. It was broadcast on the internet live.On New Year¡Çs Eve in 2000, she gave a special countdown concert ¡Èthe moment of 21st century¡É (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space) with Yosuke Yamashita, Mari Natsuki, Mino Kabasawa, Dai Kimura, Naoko Imai. She collaborated with Japan Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Daisuke Mogi, playing her original piece ¡ÈEternal¡É. In 2001, she focused on organ including the pipe organ and gave a live ¡ÈSuper Organ Works ~breathing organ~¡É (Sumida Triphony Hall) which swept away the existing image for organ. This live was televised, and won media¡Çs attention. Appearing widely inside and outside of Japan, she has won high praises for her ability in performance. She has also showed her talent in composing music for CM, TV drama, event, and ceremony etc. In 2002, her 1st album ¡ÈTears ~mohitotsu-no-namida~¡É was released. And she gave a live ¡ÈTears Live¡É in Kyoto and Tokyo in commemoration of her CD debut. In 2005, she took charge of music production for the Water Lab at ¡ÈMountain of Dreams¡É, a pavilion in Expo 2005 Aichi Japan.¡¡¡¡Hiranuma, characterized by the ultimate lyricism and the other end kitsch, is expected to appear ever more actively as composer and player.
