Young Italian conductor Alessandro Crudele is one of the most outstanding and versatile conductors to emerge from Italy in recent years.Alessandro¡Çs international career has flourished rapidly and led him to conduct such prestigious orchestras as the Bamberg and Berlin Symphonies, the Melbourne Symphony, the Malaysian Philharmonic, the Israel Symphony, the Orchestra Sinfonica Arturo Toscanini, the Orquestra Sinfonica do Porto Casa da Musica, the Prague Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. Among his forthcoming engagements include debuts with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, as well as return visits to the Prague Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Rotterdam.
In 2000, Alessandro Crudele was appointed Chief Conductor of the Orchestra UniMi in Milan. This orchestra has gained a considerable recognition in just two years under his leadership and today performs with many renowned soloists such as Paul Badura-Skoda, Kolja Blacher, Natalie Clein, Enrico Dindo, Viviane Hagner, Albrecht Mayer, Gerhard Oppitz, Vadim Repin, Fazil Say and Lilya Zilberstein. In 2005, a concert on the occasion of the orchestra¡Çs tour of Germany was recorded and broadcast by the West German Broadcasting Corporation (WDR).
Alessandro Crudele made his debut with the Orchestra dell¡ÇAccademia del Teatro alla Scala in 2003 and was immediately invited back which gave him the opportunity to establish a relationship with the orchestra on a regular basis.
To date his most recent activities are his debuts at the Philharmonie Berlin, Tonhalle Zurich and Gewandhaus Leipzig, as well as a critically acclaimed visit to South Africa to conduct the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kwazulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Also active in the operatic field, as an assistant of Gianluigi Gelmetti he worked at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera in London and the opera house in Rome. He made his highly acclaimed opera debut with Rossini's ¡ÈIl Signor Bruschino¡É, which he also staged.
His repertoire comprises music from the 17th century to contemporary composers. In addition, Alessandro has received high praise for his readings of the music of the French impressionist school.
Alessandro Crudele was born in Milan. He studied violin and composition at the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi and graduated in 1997. His training as a conductor started at an early age. From 1999 to 2003 he continued his studies with Gianluigi Gelmetti at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena where he was awarded several scholarships and the prestigious ¡ÆDiploma d¡ÇOnore¡Ç.
Alessandro Crudele is now based in Berlin, where he has received further instruction from Christoph von Dohnanyi and Sir Simon Rattle.
